A Spooktacular Day!

The day started with a WIN for the VIKINGS! That means we head into PLAYOFFS next week! The weather was beautiful today!

The Skeleton and the Witch Diva made their first appearance at dusk!
I think Carson has been a skeleton every year of his life.....he just doesn't want to be anything else!

Here's Dad....in his costume?? :) He stayed home with Jace this year!

Mom and the kiddos! It was perfect weather for trick-or-treating!

Happy Halloween '09!

Halloween Eve!

The pumpkin carvers at the Turley house have finished their work for the day!

Meet the resident artist!

Here he is in all his glory....Jace Turley! What talent! Now picture the walls in my house - they are equally as fabulous!:)
It's sure hard to be mad at him when he's so sweet....look at that little baby he's lovingly carrying around. He had to choose between bringing Kenna's baby doll or his darth vader mask to the football game....he chose well!:)

He's 14!!!

CJ turned 14 on October 20th! Can't believe it! Our birthday tradition consists of decorating the dining room table or island while the kids are at school. They come home from school looking forward to seeing their special area all decked out birthday style....this tradition is not so "COOL" anymore for Ceej! I'm sure he wishes I'd quit with the whole "themed" birthday decor now, but I don't. Doesn't matter how old he gets, tradition is tradition and I HAVE to do it!:) I have to torture him!:)
Another birthday tradition ....eating at your favorite restaurant....and for CJ, that's definitely Cafe Rio!

Happy 14th Ceej. Love you!

Try this....You'll love it!

You have to try this. Thanks for the recipe Shelley J! It's the best!
Baked Apples To Die For
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup quick oats
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 stick unsalted room temperature butter
8 Granny Smith Apples
Ready to use pie crust (dough)
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment (or in the food processor again), mix together all ingredients for the filling.
Using an apple peeler/slicer machine, peel, slice and core the apples.
Remove the dough from the refrigerator and cut
dough in fourths. Roll a piece of dough out to make an 8 inch circle and place one of the apples in the center. Stuff the middle of the apple with 2-3 tablespoons of the filling and pull the dough up the sides, using water to make the dough stick and seal in the apple.
Place a small amount of the filling on the top. Repeat with remaining apples and place in a large cast iron skillet or casserole dish.
Brush the tops of the apples with cream and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Sprinkle some of the leftover filling in and around the apples, and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the pastry is golden brown.
Serve warm with lots of vanilla ice cream! YUM!!

Hallelujah....getting around to finishing this post!

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes the weekends just can't come soon enough at our house! We're going through a "mischevious" phase with this little guy....he's into mascara, nail polish, and lipstick. AND still hasn't outgrown his love for permanent markers! My walls look like a two year old artist resides here! :)
This quote (hanging on my fridge) keeps me sane: "Remeber these days filled with joy and laughter as you will carry them with you forever!"
One day I will look back and laugh, right? :)

Football Overload!

Carson & Kenna are BYU's biggest FANS....Brad, on the other hand, is NOT! But, being the good dad he is, he took the kids down to a BYU game to indulge them!:) Carson says it was the best day of his life!:) Thanks for winning this game BYU....it made two kids very happy!
