TOUCHDOWN!

Had to post CJ's good news....Vikings won their first game 18 -0! Third touchdown of the game went to CJ! Yahoo! Ceej plays wide receiver and if you know him at all then you know he is the most mellow, laid back guy you'll ever meet. Nothing gets him really excited and nothing gets him really down. He's just always on an even keel. So, as a mom, I love it when he shows some EMOTION! I love to see something light a fire under him. That touchdown today did it! Here's the fire!:) #32!

My Little Fountain of Youth!

Here he is...my secret to staying young. Yep, it's babylove! I'm feeling old as my 38th b-day approaches and all 3 of my older kids get ready to start school on Monday. If I hadn't had Jace I would be home alone this year....the thought scares me! Thank goodness for the little guy - I now have several years before I have to face the plight of being left home alone during the school year. Thank goodness that means I'm still young! Smiley face!

Grateful CHAOS!

School shopping is chaotic! Today I took all 4 kids at once! I was about to pull my hair out when some beautiful thoughts occurred to me:

First, how lucky I am to have 4 healthy kids to shop for.

Second, how blessed I am to have the means to buy them clothes. Some needs. Some wants.
Finally, what a fortunate blessing it is to have a good school system for them to be educated in! I'm grateful for my school shopping chaos. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!:)

Truth be told, I was wary of this final book! I tried not to have any expectations so I wouldn't be disappointed. I thought it was so good! Not good for teenagers, but good for me!:) I'm happy with it! I feel at peace! Smiley face!

I need school to start. I need a maid. I need a personal assistant. I need....to pull myself together!:) Okay, there! I feel better! Just had to vent!

And now....totally off the subject, here are a couple pics of our ward Luau last night. Kenna & some of her friends learned a hawaiian dance for the program...it was soooo fun! She was totally nervous but conquered her fears and "shook it!" :) It was too cute! Moments like this make life worth all the craziness!

Thanks for all your imput on my fall/summer decor dilema! It was helpful! This is what I decided to do: I decorated our HUGE ARMOIRE...it's gigantic....with all new fall decor! (I'll post a pic soon) The rest of the store is still all summer.

The fall things in the armoire are a preview of what is to come...and actually, several items have sold so I'm glad to not have missed out on those sales!! I feel good about having everything else be SUMMERY. I think it was a great compromise.

We decided to close the store the last week in August! We'll deck it out for fall then and have a huge fall open house the first week of September. That's probably a little early still, but once school starts, it feels like summer is officially over! How did I do?:) Let me know!:)

One Weekend....Two Weddings!

I love weddings & receptions! It's always sooo fun to see the newlyweds and think back to your own day!
Friday (the infamous 8/8/08) we celebrated the wedding of my cute cousin Pam! Love a family wedding....it's almost like a family reunion! It's so nice to have all the loved ones together for a special occasion! Congrats to Ben & Pam! It was a great day!

Saturday was Mindy Call's reception! My little beehive from Mexico is all grown up! And gorgeous, I might add! It was so fun to see her and her family again. I love going to "Mexico Receptions!" All of Mexico comes out of the woodwork!:) If you're from the colonies then you know what I mean!:)
The only downside to Mindy's reception is that the flash on my camera wouldn't work....so all my pictures are pitch black! Darn! Other then that, it was great to see everyone & so nice to see Mindy with a great guy!

















Brad was out of town so Kenna chose to be my date for both events! Her favorite tradition is to take a self portrait! So, here we are! On the left, at Pam's wedding! On the right, at Mindy's....in the bathroom...the only place it was bright enough to get my camera to take a picture! Desperate measures to get Kenna her picture!:)

To Do or Not To Do!

Help! I'm at a loss for an answer...... to a decorating decision at Whisperwood! Here's the deal! Every where you look in Utah it's beginning to look like FALL! That is, if you're looking in the stores! Outside it's still Hot and Sunny! No signs of leaves falling, weather cooling, etc.

So, this is my question:
Should I jump on the bandwagon and pull out all the new fall inventory?

Or, should I wait & let summer be summer!

I can't decide! So many people ask us why we don't have our fall stuff out at Whisperwood (like all the other stores). On the other hand, many people have commented on the fact that they're sooo happy we aren't selling fall in the middle of summer! Please put in your 2 cents!

Today is....Carson's official birthday! He's 7 & headed to first grade this year!

Today is....My sister Laurie's baby blessing! Her little girl, Layni, is 6 wks. old (not headed to school this year)! :)

Today is....A great day! It was fun to have all the family together! We missed "the brothers" but had a nice little family reunion with the rest of the gang! Even Jace is having a good laugh with the grandparents!:) Sure do wonder what was sooo funny!? I'm sure he'll never tell!:)

I've been drinking again....

Hee! Hee! Actually, I'm not doing very good on my "water only" challenge this week. I've fallen off the wagon in a Big way. I'm talking major Mountain Dew & Dr. Pepper!:) So, just for the record, I'm starting over....beginning Monday!:)

His birthday is Sunday, August 3rd, so we partied today instead! Too bad dad & CJ are still at scout camp & couldn't be here to share in the fun!:( I think I'll let them take care of the party next year!:)

I have ONE LITTLE picture of the party! So sad! I lost my camera right after laying Jace down for a nap & couldn't find it anywhere! Luckily, it did show up...of course it was AFTER the party...tucked nicely in Jace's crib, under the blankets. :) So, this is our only "recuerdo!"
